Junior School Music Teacher

Role

We seek an innovative, inspiring and experienced Pre-K to Year 6 Music Teacher to join our Junior School. Experience in Music curriculum planning and delivery in a Primary school context, as well as choral and instrumental conducting experience, is required for this position.  

The Duties

The successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge, competence, and confidence in;

  • The NESA Creative Arts syllabus for K-6 and additional music methodologies including Orff and Kodaly
  • Creating and delivering class music programs that provide engaging learning opportunities to build skills in performance and listening and organising sound
  • Identifying the individual needs of girls to facilitate the development of an integrated, exciting, rigorous music program for students from Pre- Kindergarten (Transition) to Year 6
  • Conducting and supporting some of the following groups: Concert and Junior Band, Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Poole House Strings, Bambini Strings, Small ensemble groups in strings, woodwind, and brass, Cantare (auditioned choir), Everett Choir (Years 5 and 6), Archdale Choir (Years 3 and 4), Primary Choir, Infants Choir, Years 5 and 6 Handbell Choirs

About our Team

The Music Teacher will work collaboratively within the Junior School, undertaking responsibilities within the team, as required by the Head of the Junior School. They will work collaboratively and supportively with the Head of Junior School Music to ensure the continued delivery of the high standard and efficient delivery of the weekly co-curricular music programs.
