Primary Role
AbbSchool is seeking to appoint an experienced and passionate Trinity College London-qualified Speech and Drama Teacher to join our dynamic co-curricular Drama team.
This part-time position, commencing Term 1 February 2024, will involve working 3 days per week during term-time as a Drama Tutor.

Other Duties
In addition to day-time teaching duties, the successful candidate will be required to attend two evenings a year to assist the Junior and Senior students in the end-of-year Drama Recitals in Term 3. The successful candidate will also be required to write school reports for private students mid and end-of-year. There will be opportunities to expand your passion for the performing arts, extend your professional development, and work extra hours with assisting with other school productions and events if desired.

Essential Requirements
• Experience in teaching Trinity College London syllabus in Acting, Communication Skills, Musical Theatre, Performance Arts, Speech, and Drama (Grades and up to Diploma level).
• Ability to teach and fulfill the standards articulated in the Trinity College London syllabus (Drama & Speech and Communication Skills).
• Experience in teaching students from Years K-12 in both individual and paired lessons, as well as group drama classes.
• An ability to enrich student learning and engagement in drama and communication skills.
• The ability to write short progress reports for private students each semester.
• An ability to manage timetabling and lesson rotation with private students.
• Ability to contribute to our thriving Drama and Performing Arts program and possess a positive attitude with a great sense of fun and good humor.

The successful candidate will join part of a dynamic and enthusiastic Drama team who are passionate about the performing arts and are experienced teachers, actors, writers and performers. The candidate should inspire Abbotsleigh’s young women through dynamic classroom practice, refined professional knowledge and a commitment to high performance.
