Welcome to the community of Abbotsleigh. Abbotsleigh is a pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 Anglican day and Boarding school for girls located on the upper north shore in Wahroonga. Our curriculum is broad and encourages all areas of creativity and innovation, from our earliest learners to our Senior Girls. We operate 4 separate boarding houses, for girls Years 7 – 12 from metropolitan Sydney, regional NSW, interstate, and international locations. We offer full and weekly boarding options to our families. The Role
The Responsible Medical Officer (Senior Boarding Assistant) has a clear passion for working with students in a residential setting. They are committed to fostering a caring and nurturing environment that encourages a positive outlook and a priority to participate in health and wellbeing initiatives.
The primary role of the Responsible Medical Officer is to provide after-school hours supervision of mildly unwell Boarders in the Health Centre, transport Boarders to off-site allied health appointments and support the Health Centre Manager in the Health Centre and Boarding Coordinators in the Boarding Houses in an assistant role when required.
When not required in the Health Centre, the Responsible Medical Officer will provide support to the Boarding Coordinator’s in an assistant capacity to administer medication and oversee the supervision of the physical and emotional wellbeing of Boarders in the Boarding House.
The role will consist of a split shift and sleep over. The hours of work will be from 3pm to 10pm then 6am to 9am. This position is term time only.
Depending on the applicant, this role can be filled in a full-time or a part-time capacity. Previous experience in a similar role is preferable.
