Start Term 1 2025 week 10 ends 26 September 2025 (Terms 2 & 3)| Permanent Full time (parental leave) | Reports to Head of Science

At Abbotsleigh, our Science teachers play a vital role in creating an energetic and engaging learning environment that inspires a passion for scientific inquiry. Starting in term 1 week 10 or term 2 2025, this role involves designing and delivering innovative lesson plans tailored to diverse learning styles, promoting critical thinking, and encouraging personal development. Teachers will assess student progress through various methods, provide constructive feedback, and adapt strategies to meet individual needs.

The successful applicant will foster a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages enthusiasm for science, while actively participating in professional development and contributing to the school’s educational community.

The Duties

  • Confidently knowledgeable and experienced in teaching Stage 6 Chemistry
  • Demonstrate confidence and expertise in teaching Stage 4 and 5 Science, effectively engaging students and fostering a deep understanding of scientific concepts
  • Deep understanding of effective pedagogical strategies for the Science classroom, across various year level
  • Well-versed in NESA guidelines, with a strong grasp of the new curriculum and relevant standard
  • Ability to integrate technology and contemporary resources to enhance learning and keep the curriculum relevant and engaging
