Start Term term 2 2025 | part-time | Reports to Science Lab Manager
We are seeking a diligent and organised Laboratory Assistant to support our science labs. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, organising lab spaces, and restocking supplies. This role is ideal for someone who has completed Year 12 science subjects and is looking to gain hands-on experience in a laboratory setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clean and sanitise laboratory equipment and workspaces.
• Organise and maintain inventory of lab supplies and equipment.
• Restock lab supplies as needed, ensuring all materials are available for experiments.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of laboratory experiments.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the lab supervisor.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the lab supervisor.
Qualifications:
• Completion of Year 12 science subjects.
• Basic understanding of laboratory safety and procedures.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a laboratory setting is a plus but not required.
Working Conditions:
• This position may require standing for extended periods and lifting/moving lab equipment.
• Must be able to follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
