About the Role
Are you passionate about science and love working with children? Abbotsleigh is seeking a dedicated and organised Junior School Laboratory Assistant to support our vibrant science program for students in Kindergarten to Year 6.
In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with teaching staff to prepare engaging and safe practical activities, maintain equipment and resources, and help foster a love of discovery in young learners. You’ll play a key part in creating a well-organised, inspiring learning environment that reflects our commitment to excellence and innovation in education.

What You’ll Do
Prepare materials and equipment for science lessons and demonstrations
Support teachers during practical activities and experiments
Maintain lab cleanliness, safety standards, and equipment inventories
Assist with ethical care of living specimens and trial new experiments
Ensure compliance with WHS and chemical safety regulations
Contribute to a positive, collaborative learning environment

What You’ll Bring
Certificate IV in Laboratory Skills or relevant experience
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Knowledge of WHS and chemical handling procedures
Enthusiasm for science and working with children
First Aid certification and NSW Working With Children Check
A proactive, professional and team-oriented approach
