About the Role
Are you passionate about science and love working with children? Abbotsleigh is seeking a dedicated and organised Junior School Laboratory Assistant to support our vibrant science program for students in Kindergarten to Year 6.
In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with teaching staff to prepare engaging and safe practical activities, maintain equipment and resources, and help foster a love of discovery in young learners. You’ll play a key part in creating a well-organised, inspiring learning environment that reflects our commitment to excellence and innovation in education.

What You’ll Do
• Prepare materials and equipment for science lessons and demonstrations
• Support teachers during practical activities and experiments
• Maintain lab cleanliness, safety standards, and equipment inventories
• Assist with ethical care of living specimens and trial new experiments
• Ensure compliance with WHS and chemical safety regulations
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative learning environment

What You’ll Bring
• Certificate IV in Laboratory Skills or relevant experience
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Knowledge of WHS and chemical handling procedures
• Enthusiasm for science and working with children
• First Aid certification and NSW Working With Children Check
• A proactive, professional and team-oriented approach
