Abbotsleigh is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate part-time German teacher to join our Languages Department in 2026. The successful candidate will be an educator who is highly motivated to support Abbotsleigh to maintain and develop learning and innovation, ensure continued academic achievement, and inspire, engage, and value every girl. They will also be responsible for the well-being of a small tutor group. You will be part of a department that is well-resourced, and a team that is always happy to give you a hand and help guide and support you. This role will be appointed at either 0.5 or 0.6 FTE, working across four days per week, with Wednesdays designated as the non‑working day.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver engaging German language and cultural lessons.
• Design inquiry-based, communicative, and immersive learning experiences.
• Foster students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing proficiency in German.
• Collaborate with Language Department colleagues to ensure cohesive curriculum delivery.
• Integrate technology and digital tools meaningfully into language teaching.
• Assess and report on student progress using varied, authentic assessment strategies.
• Provide pastoral care and support students’ wellbeing and holistic development.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, faculty initiatives, and school-wide programs.
• Participate in professional learning, co-curricular activities, and school events.
