Library Technician (K–12) | Two-Campus Role | Reports to Head of Library and Learning Enrichment | Term time only
Abbotsleigh is seeking an enthusiastic and service‑focused Library Technician to join our K–12 Libraries team, working across our Junior School and Senior School campuses. This is a rewarding opportunity for a skilled library professional who enjoys working with young children and adolescents, values collaboration, and thrives in dynamic, learning‑focused environments.
About the Role
Our libraries are welcoming, technology‑rich learning spaces that support learning, wellbeing and enrichment from Kindergarten to Year 12. In this role, you will work across two campuses, applying a shared K–12 library philosophy while adapting your approach to meet the distinct needs of younger and older students. Reporting to the Head of Library and Learning Enrichment, you will provide high‑quality reader advisory and information services, support library systems and collections, and contribute to positive library experiences for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver friendly, professional reader advisory and circulation services across both campuses
- Support student and staff access to physical and digital resources via library systems and online portals
- Promote reading and curate age‑appropriate resources aligned with curriculum, wellbeing and enrichment
- Assist with collection maintenance, cataloguing, stocktaking and system updates
- Support library programs, displays, events and daily operations
- Supervise and support students in library spaces, upholding age‑appropriate expectations
- Provide administrative and technical support in collaboration with the Library, IT and Maintenance teams
About You
- Experience working in a school or similar library environment
- Confidence using automated library management systems and digital technologies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with girls from early childhood through adolescence
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work across two sites
- A flexible, discreet and team‑focused approach
- An interest in the NSW primary and secondary curriculum (highly regarded)
