Term 3 | Permanent full-time | Reports to Headmistress and Executive Team

Abbotsleigh is seeking a highly capable and professional Executive Assistant to partner closely with the Headmistress in a pivotal, high-impact role.

This is a dynamic position suited to an experienced EA who thrives on variety from supporting strategic priorities and leadership activity through to ensuring the smooth delivery of day-to-day operations. You will play a key role in bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Importantly, this is not a traditional “gatekeeper” role. You will work in close partnership with the Headmistress, Executive Team, and broader school community, enabling connection, coordination, and progress.

About the Role

As a trusted partner to the Headmistress, you will:

  • Manage a complex and evolving schedule with foresight and sound judgement
  • Support both strategic initiatives and the practical, day-to-day needs of the Headmistress’s office
  • Prepare and refine high-quality communications and correspondence
  • Act as a central point of coordination across the Executive Team
  • Oversee planning rhythms and contribute to the whole-school calendar
  • Track priorities, actions, and deliverables to ensure momentum is maintained

This role spans both the “big picture” and the detail, from significant whole-school events and leadership coordination to the essential, sometimes routine tasks that keep everything running smoothly.

About You|Essential Knowledge and Experience

You are an experienced Executive Assistant who brings;

  • Enjoys the full breadth of the role — from high-level coordination to hands-on administrative support
  • Builds strong, collaborative working relationships and operates with warmth and professionalism
  • Exercises sound judgement and discretion in a complex environment
  • Is highly organised, detail-focused, and proactive
  • Communicates with clarity and care, adapting tone as needed
  • Brings strong Microsoft Office capability (particularly Outlook and Word)
  • Displays flexibility and responsiveness, with a willingness to adapt working hours to support key school priorities

You are someone who takes pride in enabling others to succeed and contributing meaningfully to a positive, high-functioning team.

Why Join Abbotsleigh?

  • Work closely with a respected and values-driven leader
  • Be part of a high-performing and collaborative Executive Team
  • Contribute to a vibrant and purposeful school community
  • Enjoy six weeks’ annual leave aligned with the school calendar
